Working alongside a dedicated team of professionals, you provide high quality, inclusive care and creative programming for children in a group setting. In collaboration with your co-workers and reporting to the Child Care Supervisor, you plan and implement a child-led, play-based curriculum for children aged 12 months to 5 years. You engage and build meaningful relationships with children, co-workers, families and external stakeholders while ensuring children are well supervised and provided developmentally appropriate, fun choices.

 

This is a unique opportunity to join our growing team in opening brand new childcare programs in the Metchosin community, catering to children from infancy through elementary school!

Position: Permanent Full Time

Placement:  Tentative start date August 24, 2026, pending building completion

Hours:   40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7am and 5:30pm

Wage:  ECE: $30.63/hour* (plus benefits – see benefits below)

              ECE IT/SN: $31.81/hour* (plus benefits – see benefits below)

 

NOTES:  

*This wage rate includes the additional $6/hour provided by MECC’s ECE Wage Enhancement Program (for qualified candidates).

  • Additional $3.00/hour available for Class 4 drivers on days assigned to transport children in the Y’s vehicle.
